Reineta Apple
The Reineta, originally from France (where is nknown as Reinette or Canada Gris), is one of the oldest and most frequent varieties of apple grown in this country. The skin is rough and reddish-brown. The pulp, sweet-taste and tending to chalking, is yellow in color. The stalk is short and the shape is flattened, with rounded but irregular contours.
The variety is widely used for cooking and as an ingredient in salads (shelled).
The usual harvest period is the first half of September.
